This item was gifted to me for my honest review and for content creation. Thank you wool& for the opportunity to share the Roam Cami Slip.
For reference, I am 5’6”, 190 pounds, and a pear shaped 42 year old. I am wearing size Large.
As a South Carolina girly, a little spaghetti strap slip will always have a place in my wardrobe and this piece has the versatility to really get a ton of wear. As always, I am challenged by my own size metrics. I’m probably close to an XL in the hips/tummy but more of a medium in the chest/shoulders.
wool& Roam Cami Slip, size Large in black
For Roam, I wish I had chosen a medium and probably should have exchanged but I was already attached to the size large by the time I came to that realization, so I will continue to wear this. Fortunately, the straps adjust allowing me to tighten the fit of the top a good bit.
The fabric of Roam is smooth and super stretchy, just like you would want from a slip with 75% merino wool, 22% nylon, 3% spandex. At 200 gsm it’s not sheer but it’s very lightweight. Initially, I wondered if I might be able to wear this piece alone as a dress in the summer. Now that I have tried it myself, I’ve decided that at my shape and age, I’m just not willing to do it, it’s a little too thin and a smidge too clingy. If I was on vacation and walking the beach, I would feel fine, but in most cases probably not something I would wear as a standalone. However, I can imagine many folks could pull it off really well.
I was most excited about pairing the Roam Cami Slip with leggings and other tops, giving me skirt-like coverage or extending a top into tunic length. For this, I’m absolutely thrilled with the functionality of it and this is something I will wear a lot.
Whenever I find myself a little bored with an outfit, adding in a contrasting texture can often do just the trick and so layering the Roam Cami Slip with a lace top gave me a little style pick-me-up (last few pics). I have no doubt the Roam Cami Slip will get a lot of wear in my wardrobe!
