Like some of you all, I saw Simply Merino’s latest launch and was very intrigued. I was very excited to get the chance to try a few items from their newest launch: the Balloon Pants, the Boxy Tank, and the Tshirt Dress. Thank you, Simply Merino for the chance to share these gifted items with my group! 
A little real-life rambling that’s completely unrelated to this review: The last month, we have been so sick – we had Flu B and it honestly lasted forever. I think because we were trying so hard to stay away from patient zero (my son, who at age 14, has apparently still not learned to cover his mouth when coughing), it meant it moved even slower and took longer to get through us all. I’m still coughing after over 2 weeks. We have also had so much rain, it’s rained basically every day for the last 10 days. I have literally been staying home and working and hadn’t even worn make up in ages. So, waking up today and doing a little photo shoot with new clothes, was such a nice treat.

A few things about Simply Merino that you might like to learn about. They are family-owned and operated, made in Canada, certified non-mulesed, and they save ALL of their textile waste from ending up in the landfill (cool, huh?). A couple things they do as part of their sustainability model: they include small fabric swatches to use for patches if needed, they tie their bundles with merino scraps, and they also make zero-waste scrunchies (which are both cute and comfy).
(As a reminder I’m 5’6” and currently about 200 pounds give or take. Now, on to the review!)
The Balloon Pants
I was most excited to try the Balloon pants and they did not disappoint. Love the shape, fit, feel, and color. For me, this is an amazing alternative to leggings for warm, humid months of the year. Sometimes you just want pants that are loose and comfy and these are perfect. I feel like these look casual and just a bit quirky, without being sloppy. The crotch is low but not crazy and they fit on the generous side of true to size. The Deep Sea color is gorgeous. For those who love Pine from wool&, it’s just a smidge more blue than Pine and is close enough to wear together without an issue (at least for me….I wore it with wool& Tate in these pics). I love the length of these and the fact that the cuffs aren’t snug at all on my very much not-small calves. 100% Merino, super comfy, and very easy to wear.

The Boxy Tank
I requested the Boxy Tank in size Large and Black and it’s a very good fit for me. I think I could size down for a tight fit, but that’s not what I typically prefer. It does gap a smidge at the arm holes in this size but that’s not unusual for me (as always, I’m kind of a Medium & a half). Still, my bra did not show so I’m good with it! I really like the length of this top, and it’s especially a good match to the Balloon Pants. I also think it will be a great match for my maxi skirts which I’ve been wearing a lot lately. The fabric is light and breathable and it’s 100% merino, too!

T-Shirt Dress
I’m wearing this T-shirt dress in size XL and the color Nutmeg, which I was excited to find perfectly matches my cognac boots. It’s a really rich, pretty color and although it isn’t really my very best shade, it’s a fun “adjacent” color to my dark winter palette. I was happy to see how well it pairs with many colors, including black, denim, navy, and white. The cut of this dress is great, I really like the looser sleeves. I would call it slightly over-sized. The slit gives freedom without feeling too high and I was happy that I didn’t feel nervous on a slightly windy day. (I have found that dresses with two slits can be a little too iffy for me!) I wore this all day and felt great.
