I’m excited to share a NEW Unbound Merino Haul & Try-On with you today. It’s really exciting to see how Unbound Merino has grown over the last couple of years and continues to create new designs that fill holes in the market. Today I get to try a couple pieces that do just that!
This post contains #affiliate links and #gifted items. Thank you for supporting my family by shopping with me. It’s so much fun to try merino wool and create these reviews so thanks for checking it out!

Before we get started, I’m currently about 200 pounds at 5’6″. I’m typically a Large or XL depending on the brand. My stomach is my biggest size measurement currently so it’s not unusual for me to wear a range of sizes.
Item #1: The Merino Poplin Button Up
The first piece is one that really surprised me.
Unbound Merino Merino Poplin Button Up, in the color Azure Stripe, size large.
- 100% Merino Wool
- 133 gsm
- Made with premium New Zealand ZQ Certified wool.
- Mother of pearl buttons.
- Adjustable sleeve cuff.
- Fiber micron: Superfine 17.5

First off, this shirt amazed me as I pulled it out of its snug little stack with after being folded and it was practically wrinkle free and wearable right out of the gate! As someone who pretty much only uses her iron for craft projects, this is a HUGE win. The fabric is incredible soft, breathable, and lightweight. I don’t usually wear sleeves during the summer in the SC heat, but if I need to dressup, I can definitely handle wearing this one! Please ignore my untanned skin. My nickname as a kid was “Snow White” and they didn’t mean it in a good way. Size is perfect, fit is excellent, and the feel is truly surprising. This is by far the softest, silkiest poplin-style fabric I’ve ever owned and 100% merino is the icing on the cake!
I think the fact that I could tie this shirt at the waist, then untie it and watch the wrinkles disappear is truly remarkable (granted, it wasn’t tied very long as I was just styling it for a few pics but you get my point!) I have yet to style this as a business casual piece but I am certain it will be perfect so stay tuned!

Item #2: The Merino Bermuda Shorts
Check out the Unbound Merino Women’s Bermuda Shorts, in size 32.
- 93% Merino Wool, 7% Spandex
- 207gsm
- Made with premium italian Merino wool
- All way stretch
- Crease resistant fabric
- Two front pockets
- Two back welt pockets
- Pleated on front
- Belt loops
- Zipper fly with hidden button
- Fiber micron: Fine 19.5

I’m a big fan of the Unbound Merino Travel Shorts so I was really excited to try the new, longer version. Please note, I’m wearing a size 32. Although they fit, they aren’t the correct size for me. I need to size up to a 34 and probably a 36 would be more appropriate for my waist measurements (that is my one wish for Unbound Merino, that they would expand their size offerings in the future!) However, these surprisingly do fit. I actually like how the pleats provide more volume in the hips and gave the flexibility so that I could successfully size down. I think it also makes the shorts fit a little shorter, which I don’t hate. With the slight stretch in the fabric, these work shockingly well for me.
The shorts themselves are great, very polished in style and the construction is excellent. They also have belt loops, and a traditional button and zipper so they would be perfect for a nice belt (which I don’t own). At this point in my life, I really appreciate a longer, more polished pair of black shorts! This really fit a hole in the market, in my opinion, and I’m really happy that these are available.

Item #3 The Ribbed Merino Tank
I LOVE this tank and already own the previous version in black, so I was happy to grab the Merino Ribbed Scoop Neck Tank in Ivory in size Large.
- 96% Merino Wool, 4% Spandex
- 210gsm
- 2×2 rib
- Fiber micron: Ultrafine 16.5

It’s super comfy and super stretchy. It’s definitely a little on the see-through side and a little clingy, but I planned to wear this as a layering piece, so that’s ok for me. This item is currently on sale and a great piece to grab for summer travel!
Item #4 The Women’s Merino Lounge Pants
Coming up, the Women’s Merino Lounge Pants in Charcoal, size Large and 28 inch inseam.
- 32% Merino Wool, 22% Tencel, 23% Nylon, 23% Modal
- 230gsm
- Side pockets
- Fiber micron: Fine 19.3
I’ve always been a sucker for a comfy pair of pants and these SERIOUSLY deliver. Incredibly, deliciously soft with the stretch we love. One thing to note, these are a lower percentage of merino, blended along with nylon, tencel, and modal. My understanding (and experience) with Tencel has been that it performs like a natural fiber so this would still be over half “natural” by my definitions. But just something to keep in mind!
If you like the comfort and casual vibe of leggings but sometimes want to skip the tightness and compression, these would be just the ticket. I grabbed them in charcoal but I do think that in black they could be dressed up with a little creativity. They absolutely feel like the comfiest pjs you could imagine!
Item #5 The A-Line Tank Dress
The Unbound Merino A-Line Tank dress in size Large, Dark Olive
- 100% Merino Wool, Interlock
- 235 gsm
- Soft touch.
- Wrinkle resistant.
- Fiber micron: Ultrafine 16.5

The second I saw this dress I was SO excited. For those who have been around my blog for awhile, you know dresses are my favorite way to, well, get dressed. I absolutely love a good comfy dress and this one literally hits ALL of my wishes: excellent quality 100% merino, squishy soft fabric, an A-line cut (my body is essentially A-line so this is great), the perfect midi length, and a fantastic neutral. If this dress comes out in a navy blue or a dark burgandy, I’d be all over it.

This
newer dress is exactly what I hoped it would be, all the great wearability we expect from Unbound Merino, with a thicker feel and soft A-line drape. The original
Unbound Merino Travel Dress has a nearly cult-following in the merino world and it’s often brought up as an amazing travel dress. For me, that dress is just a smidge too thin, the side slit is a fraction too high, and the fit is just a little too slender. At my current size, I’m much more comfortable with a thicker fabric, longer length, and more space in the hips – so I am thrilled with this new dress drop!

Oh my God, I NEED that shirt. It looks fabulous with every outfit that you posted. I also think I might need another dress, love that one as well. I’ve not ordered from them yet, just shopped often but not purchased as I was afraid things would need to be exchanged and I didn’t want the hassle of the border exchange.
Leah, thanks so much for this post! You look as beautiful as ever!
Karin, I just looked back and saw that I posted this blog post and it’s only gotten three views. LOL! Sometimes being a blogger is so humbling. It was such a sweet surprise to then read that lovely comment from you! Thank you so much, you are truly too kind. I’m posting a little video to the group as well about the dress!
