Today I’m reviewing this Unbound Merino Women’s Sleep Top & Bottom Set recently gifted to me from the brand. It’s taken me awhile to really test this set, but now that I have, I can’t wait to fill you in. I have gotten a lot of questions, so here is everything you need to know.

First Impressions

Straight out of the packaging, the first thing I noticed was how luxuriously soft the fabric feels. The fabric is slightly silky, with a beautiful drape and a matte finish—no sheen, no weird synthetic vibes.

I received the beautiful Sail Blue set, in XL (I got the 30″ in the pants). I am 5’6″ and about 200 pounds currently. I typically choose the XL size in Unbound Merino because I prefer a looser fit for most of my clothing. The minimalist design is signature Unbound Merino: no logos, no fuss, just clean lines and an effortless silhouette.

Fit & Sizing

Now that I’ve tried these pants, I could definitely have sized down to a Large. I find the pants to be quite generous in fit and they are high-waisted which meant the lenth was pretty long for me). The top has a flattering scoop neck and hits just at the hip—long enough to avoid riding up while sleeping, but not oversized. I would say the top runs true to size. The bottoms feature a comfortable, wide waistband with plenty of stretch. I love the waist of these pants!

These are marketed as sleepwear, but honestly, they look and feel elevated enough to pass for loungewear or even travel basics. I’ve already worn them outside the house, the trick is to mix them with other pieces. No one guessed I was in pajamas, but it might have been a little more obvious if I’d worn both pieces together.

Performance

As with all my merino pieces, my biggest expectation is comfort, breathability, and odor control—especially important when traveling light (rarely me) or going multiple wears between washes (always me).

✅ Temperature regulation: Excellent. I have worn these inside and outside (briefly) during our South Carolina heat. Merino’s ability to regulate body temperature continues to amaze,

✅ Odor resistance: If you don’t believe that merino wool repells odor, you’ll just have to try it for yourself! This is why merino is unbeatable for travel and for busy moms like me.

✅ No itch, no cling: Even after for overnightss in the summer (and I’m in Perimenopause, ya’ll) the fabric doesn’t feel clammy or overwhelming. Just light, soft, breathable perfection.

Washing & Care

Unbound Merino recommends gentle washing and laying flat to dry, which I always follow with my merino pieces. I haven’t washed this yet, but I expect great performance as I’ve had with all the rest of my Unbound Merino, meaning no shrinkage or loss of shape.
